For our second wedding of our 4th official wedding season we shot dual coverage (photography and videography) for Shannon and Grant’s winter wedding at Manning Provincial Park and Resort in B.C., and oh my goodness was it EVER such a magical, beautiful snowy destination mountain wedding in British Columbia! Guests and ourselves made the journey out to this amazing B.C. mountain destination wedding to photograph and film a day that Shannon and Grant had been planning for so long! Morg and I had never been to Manning Provincial Park and Resort before so we went up a day early to location scout and see what this snowy mountain wedding venue was all about. The day of the wedding we got hit with all kinds of weather, beautiful sunshine, to buckets of snow during the ceremony, and Shannon and her bridesmaids were absolute CHAMPIONS braving all that cold weather in heels nonetheless and looking like such babe cities.
Something that we found so awesome about having a wedding at Manning Park was the fact that everything is in one central location just a short car ride away from each other, making the wedding day easily flow from one event to the next. From awesome accommodation within walking distance to the reception hall (which is awesome after a big night of dancing away), multiple first look and portrait locations, the ceremony site, private log cabins to get ready in with your wedding party in the morning, etc. Manning Park is also about a 3 hour drive away from Vancouver, British Columbia, which makes it an awesome mountain destination wedding venue close to enough to Vancouver without being TOO far.
Shannon and Grant had their wedding ceremony at Lightning Lake at Manning Park Resort. Our bride and groom opted for a minimalistic arch way covered in a floral design by Carli at Wild Rabbit Flowers (who serves couples all the way from the Fraser Valley to Vancouver, B.C.) we HIGHLY recommend Wild Rabbit Flowers if you are looking for some beautiful, romantic, lush florals for your wedding day. Their ceremony site had a backdrop of the mountains, with Lightning Lake at Manning Park frozen over and covered in a deep blanket of snow, it was truly the perfect backdrop for this winter wonderland wedding. Shannon and Grant had chairs set up and music to great all their guests, and although it began to snow pretty heavily during their ceremony, they had thought to put out blankets for all their guests to cozy up in, a B.C. winter wedding must have!
Shannon and Grant’s wedding day went by in a flash, from their first look at Lightning Lake, Manning Park, to their amazing ceremony officiated by Christian Sawka, heart filled speeches by their wedding party and parents that made everyone get a little teary eyed, to a first dance that they took private lessons to learn, the day went by SO quickly and SO amazingly! We are so thankful to have had the experience and opportunity to photograph and provide videography/film for this winter wonderland wedding at one of B.C.’s mountain wedding venues; Manning Provincial Park and Resort. Thank you SO much to our bomb ass bride and groom for braving that cold and looking fine as hell while doing it, and thank you for trusting us to photograph your incredible wedding day!
