Emily reached out to me in the summer about her and her partner Lane’s travel plans to Canada (they’d be coming in from California). Emily told me that every time that they went traveling they would hire a professional photographer to shoot a couples session for them to remember their trip, and they loved my photos at Pitt Lake in Pitt Meadows.
I seriously cannot get over how much I adore this idea of hiring a professional photographer to document your travel adventures, what better way to remember how a trip really felt and looked like and SUCH a fun way to explore a new city from a local.
Emily explained how she loved the Pacific North West vibes my photos at Pitt Lake had, and honestly Pitt Meadows has so much west coast vibes going for it. Pitt Lake in Pitt Meadows is surrounded by the mountains, the water of pitt lake (there’s an actual boat launch further down the road from where these photos are taken which are great for those of you who own a boat ((AHEM if you are one of those people, let’s be friends like aaasssap), and you can rent canoes there in the summer. Over the years Morg and I have canoed across the lake to private swimming holes with beers and snacks in hand, and it makes for the perfect summer day.
Okay okay, back to Lane and Emily. With a car full of outfits, I helped these guys choose the best outfits to match each other and the mood we were going for in thees photos & the timing of the photos. Emily opted for a burgundy dress for golden hour, and a bluey/purple maxi dress from https://www.lulus.com/ that made for some amazing twirly and dance moments between Emily and Lane. I feel like the mountains are so close at Pitt Lake you could just reach out and touch them with the palm of your hand, they hide the sun quite early, but provide this amazing blue hour glow throughout all the trails and roads leading back to Pitt Meadows. Pitt Lake is honestly one of my most favourite engagement/couples photoshoot locations, and I love that being a Pitt Meadows photographer means I have constant access and shoots at this spectacular location.
