As a primarily wedding, engagement, and couples photographer based in Vancouver, when Sheena came to me with the idea of doing the perfect Christmas date day with her husband Danny, I JUMPED on this amazing Christmas train idea!
This was actually my third time shooting this power couple husband and wife business owner team (they are amazing optometrist based in Vancouver, B.C.), so we wanted to get creative with what this shoot would include.
The first year I shot this couple at Christmas time, we went to a local Christmas tree farm just a short drive away from Vancouver. They wandered around the Christmas tree property looking for the perfect xmas tree for their home together, snuggling up on the cold December day, finally choosing the perfect one for them.
Here’s a link to that photoshoot: https://www.themacleans.ca/blog/2018/vancouver-christmas-tree-farm-vancouver-photographer
The second year I shot this husband and wife duo for their annual Christmas photos, we went to Fort Langley, B.C. Fort Langley always had such a cheerful and welcoming community, including a massive tree in front of their community hall, that they deck out with lights and ornaments. Many of the little ma and pop shops in Fort Langley also decorate their storefronts and really get into the holiday spirit. This was such a great backdrop for their Christmas photos.
This third year, we wanted to stick close to their home just outside of Vancouver, B.C., and showcase a “Christmas at home date day” feel. Sheena and Danny decorated their Christmas tree in their matching Christmas pajamas set up in their living room. With some spiked hot chocolate in hand, I spent the afternoon photographing such a special husband and wife married Christmas photoshoot and capturing those memories that they’ll be able to hold onto for years to come.
