When David + Aaron reached out to us just about a year ago they told us that what will make their wedding day them, was a small inimiate wedding, none fuss about a lot of traditional things you’d find at a wedding like a first dance or cake cutting etc, but throwing a fun celebration with their friends. “Fun is where our friends are, and so the company is more important than what we’re doing”. After meeting up with these two beautiful souls over drinks at The Flying Pig in Vancouver, BC, we felt so connected to their love story and their relationship, and we just KNEW that we had to be the ones to photograph their wedding day!
Their wedding was actually scheduled for later this June, with a very small intimate wedding ceremony at UBC Botanical Garden, followed by a delicious dinner and reception at L’Abattoir, both in Vancouver, B.C., both absolutely stunning settings for what their wedding day vision. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, David and Aaron had to make the ultimate decision to postpone their wedding by a full year. When we heard of the rapidly increasing safety measures being taken in B.C., in regards to Covid-19, we reached out to every single one of our 2020 wedding couples, David and Aaron included, and outlined ALL of their available options, bending over as far backwards as we could for our couples, to ensure that they could still have their wedding day when it was safe to, and without an financial penalty for something so out of their own hands. We hopped on a video chat for happy hour with David and Aaron to discuss their decision to postpone, and we were reminded yet again, of how amazing these two humans are, how positive, patient, and optimistic they were about this extremely hard decision to wait another year to tie the knot, and get married to their sweetheart.
We CANNOT wait to properly celebrate with David and Aaron at their wedding day in 2022 and squeeze and hug the shit out of them both! Until then, here is their absolutely beautiful engagement session I photographed in Vancouver last fall.
