Sabrina and Mike’s Elopement at Golden Ears Provincial Park

Wow, what a way to kick off our 2021 wedding season!!!

Mike and Sabrina had planned their wedding day about a million times by their final wedding day; jumping over every single dumpster fire situation covid-19 threw at them. But the heart wants what the heart wants, and no time apart or space between these two long distance lovers couldn’t stop Sabrina and Mike from finally, saying I do. We celebrated with Sabrina and Mike on their first day as husband and wife out at one of our favourite local elopement/micro wedding locations, Alouette Lake located at Golden Ears Provincial Park, in Maple Ridge, British Columbia.

Golden Ears Provincial Park makes for an amazing elopement location for many reasons: first, in the off season or during a particularly rainy day you’ll find that there are hardly any crowds involved at what is normally a super popular summer hangout location, Alouette Lake. Second, Golden Ears Provincial Park is made up of so many forests and trails to explore, and is actually one of the largest parks in the entire province! Third, there is such a wide variety of backdrops and settings at Golden Ears Provincial Park that truly encapsulate B.C. all within walking distance from one another, from the mountain filled skyline, the cold and refreshing water, lush forests, we are seriously so lucky to be able to call this place home, and to be able to have the opportunity to shoot amazing elopements and wedding day portraits at such an iconic location.

We filled the morning up with Sabrina and Mike dancing along the shoreline at Alouette Lake, popped some champagne with this adorable personalized custom label for our bride and groom, and soaked up all the loving all before the rain really took over the day.

We are so thankful that Sabrina and Mike trusted in our guidance for where exactly to shoot their elopement photos and video, for them sharing their first official day as married folks with us, for opening up in front of us and showing us just how much they truly love the heck and bob out of each other, and for choosing us to document their elopement.
