Vancouver Island has a wide variety of outdoor wedding venues, but when we were first introduced to Noisy Acres Garden Estate, a rustic chic adult only outdoor venue, by our amazing bride and groom to be, we were floored with how perfectly aligned this venue was for our wedding couple.
The anticipation for this wedding day was REAL our friends. To start, the groom in this wedding is my cousin, so from a personal perspective, there’s the family emotional component of the day. Second, over the years of these two being engaged and a reschedule thrown in the mix thanks to the rona, Mark and Laura became much more than just clients to us, but friends. Morgan and I were both SO excited to pack up our gear and travel on the ferries and get our butts over to Vancouver Island to photograph and film Mark and Laura’s big day.
Waking up on the wedding morning, you could feel the day brimming with excitement, and to be a little bit cheesy, love was in the air, as the sun came out. Mark and Laura had a rustic meets garden-party wedding at this great venue called Noisy Acres, which was just out of Nanaimo (Ladysmith to be exact), including seven acres at the private property on Vancouver Island. This venue was the perfect setting for these two to get married, from the beautiful outdoor ceremony (with an aisle lined with rose petals of course), the undercover exposed beam pavilion hosting dinner services, plenty of different lounge areas and fireplaces for a bomb ass cocktail hour filled with mingling, to the adorable dancefloor under the grapevines. This venue was so them!
Mark and Laura opted to do a first look followed by private vows. It was so special being able to witness, photograph and film such an intimate moment between our bride and groom, a role that makes our hearts melt with happiness. Their wedding party was literally THE BEST hype team a couple could hope for. Laughing, sipping on scotches, and wandering around the beaches at this amazing Vancouver Island airbnb they had rented for the weekend was so much fun. The wedding party and couple instantly welcomed Morg and I into their crew with such open arms.
Previously coming over to the island for a weekend getaway with Mark and Laura, we scoped out some amazing locations for their wedding film and photo portraits. The beach was an obvious hell yes for all the wedding party and bride/groom portraits to start our day, as it really encapsulated those Vancouver Island vibes so well. The airbnb our couple had rented had the perfect long tree lined roundabout driveway that made for an excellent first look location and for Mark and Laura to exchange their private vows immediately after the first look.
**We can’t seem to find this exact property anymore on Airbnb, however we have stayed at this one and it would make for an excellent private beach wedding photo location**

The outdoor ceremony spot at Noisy Acres added such an intimate and romantic vibe to the day, being nestled amongst the gardens and secret little pathways throughout the property. This outdoor ceremony spot also made an excellent runway (literal RUN/SPRINT pathway) for their ringbearer aka dog Charlie, to head down the aisle. The night was filled with so many heart filled speeches, personal stories about our bride and groom, dancing and celebrating. Oh, and the Krispy Kreme donuts for dessert, literal chefs kiss at that decision!
The wedding day went by in such a blur of excitement, happiness, and so much celebrating. We are so unbelievably happy for Laura and Mark and so thankful they chose us to photograph and film their wedding day!
