Locarno Beach in the fall makes for SUCH a bomb and beautiful engagement photoshoot location in Vancouver, B.C., and this engagement photoshoot was probably one of my favourite engagement shoots I’ve photographed in specifically Vancouver B.C. for so many reasons. The summer crowds that usually hang out here have disappeared, giving us a rare all access to this beach in Vancouver. The fall leaves turning bright oranges, deep reds and mustard yellows.
Janessa and Neil wanted a fall engagement shoot and when they suggested a local beach in Vancouver (Locarno Beach), I knew were in for a great evening. There’s just something about fall: the leaves changing to those amazing orange and red hues, the sense of a season ending soon making you want to take full advantage of it before it’s gone for another year, and the LACK of crowds at the beaches (a rarity in Vancouver B.C.).
We spent the evening playing in the fall leaves, Janessa and Neil throwing them into the air and dancing around on the fleeting quiet residential roads. We made our way down to Locarno Beach as the sun was setting, and it was seriously SO GEORGOUS! Running barefoot along the sand at Locarno for their engagement photoshoot, popping open a bottle of champagne, snuggling up together in the warmth of a blanket as the wind whipped all around them, it was such a special evening. Locarno beach in Vancouver, can be filled with volleyball players, sand building little humans, swimmers, and sun bathers in the summer, but in the fall, we almost had the entire beach to ourselves (shh I almost don’t want to post this online and let this Vancouver secret out).
We photographed Janessa and Neil’s absolutely amazing wedding day in Whistler in the summer and had such a great time with these total sweethearts. I have linked to that gallery at the end of this blog post, but for now, enjoy these Locarno Beach engagement photos!
