If you’ve never heard of Mud Bay Park, we’ll let you in on a little secret, it’s one of our favourite locations for dreamy golden hour at the beach, sunset engagement photos. Mud Bay Park in B.C., is pretty much like a hidden gem ocean side engagement photos location. Mud Bay gets amazing golden hour, especially in the summer time, which if you’ve ever shot with us before makes us SO damn happy. The ocean tide at Mud Bay can either be really far out which is great for strolling along the sand, or high up which is great for dipping toes into the water. There is this great mix of sandy trails and grass, with lots of opinions to explore for engagement photos. Although during Mariah and Mark’s engagement photoshoot the tide was quite high, here’s an example of an engagement photoshoot when the tides out low. It’s amazing the difference the tide can make at this location.
Mariah and Mark wanted to go somewhere for their engagement photos that was quiet enough for them to be themselves without worrying too much about crowds while they indulged in some heavy PDA and some steamy memory making. These two ran along the long grass, danced along the sandy shores as the sun began to dip down providing us with an amazing golden hour glow for the evening. These two couldn’t stop giggling as Mark (a local fire fighter) picked up Mariah and carried her all over Mud Bay Park. We finished off their engagement photos as the moon began to rise, snuggling up in the long grassy field that looks right out onto the ocean.
Mariah and Mark are getting married this year at Sea Breeze Lodge on Hornby Island, B.C., where I’m envisioning lots of post wedding ceremony frolicking along the beaches, smores making, and celebrating one of the best days of their relationship together with all their family and friends! We cannot wait for their wedding day!
