A Brix and Mortar Vancouver Wedding
Jenn and Brett had originally planned for a destination wedding, but the world had other plans for them, and they both agreed that they had waited long enough and were ready to just do the damn thing and get married to their sweetheart. I had actually only met Jenn and Brett a few weeks prior to their wedding day, at a pre-wedding shoot on such a beautiful warm summer night, and instantly knew I liked these two humans (you can see that session right here: https://www.themacleans.ca/blog/wedding-portraits-at-aldergrove-regional-park ). Jenn and Bretty reached out to us and asked if we were free for a last minute micro wedding at Brix and Mortar with just them, their boys, and super immediate family, and thankfully with some schedule juggling we were all able to find a day to photograph and film these two’s wedding day in Vancouver.
In typical fall Vancouver or should we say, raincouver, fashion, it poured on these two’s wedding day, but this did not dampen their spirits. Jenn and Brett got married at Brix and Mortar, located right in Yaletown in Vancouver, BC. Brix and Mortar is such a romantic hidden gem wedding venue nestled in Vancouver. The courtyard, also known to us as the ceremony space as every wedding we’ve had the privilege of photographing here always has the wedding ceremony in this area of the venue, is so unbelievably stunning. With exposed brick walls, a ceiling high open sky line window, vines crawling up the sides of ceremony space, and cute twinkling lights, Brix and Mortar is such a special wedding venue in Vancouver.
With a short and extremely sweet ceremony (with some awesome personalized vows), they shared hugs with their family and we documented those who could be there with them. Afterwards, we went for a short and sweet walk around Yaletown with our bride and groom for their wedding photos together. There’s so many awesome wedding portrait locations around Yaletown in Vancouver, and a bonus is most of these places are all super walkable from Brix and Mortar. We had such an amazing time with Jenn and Brett at their micro wedding and just feel so lucky that we were able to document their special day.
